Paradise is about to become even better. Tulum, jewel of the Mexican Caribbean, will have an airport that will strengthen the area's tourism infrastructure and bring great benefits to residents, travelers, and investors.
In December, the Felipe Carrillo Puerto International Airport will open, an event that will mark the beginning of a new era of prosperity in Tulum. The economy will grow even more and hotel demand will increase significantly, thanks to the large number of tourists who will arrive more comfortably and quickly to the destination.

A new gateway to the Mexican Caribbean
Currently, the Riviera Maya only has the Cancun airport as an entry point to the tourist corridor. This airport handled 30.3 million passengers in 2022, and in the first half of 2023 concentrated 40% of international tourism*. Now, another gateway opens with the new airport, which will be 20 kilometers southwest of Tulum.
With this airport terminal, travel times for visitors will be minimized, whether they are staying in Tulum or in another destination such as Playa del Carmen, Bacalar, Cozumel, among others. Now everyone will be closer to the archaeological sites, cenotes, beaches, and other wonders and secrets of the Riviera Maya.

It will boost real estate investment in the region
With an estimated 32,000 operations to transport 5.5 million people per year, the complex will make it easier for both national and international travelers to arrive, further contributing to the area's already solid growth.
This new airport will also further boost investment in real estate. Investing in Tulum will be more profitable, whether through lots for businesses or apartments that can be rented out to generate income.
With both the new airport and the Maya Train—the other major project in the region—acquiring property in Tulum is a decision that promises high appreciation in the coming years.
